TiVO Mavrik
Tivo has been in the news over the last few days about the renewal of it’s licences with Panasonic (see here for example)
What hasn’t been in the news is anything about Tivo Mavrik
Which is surprising to this Ninja, because Tivo Brands LLC who own all the Tivo IP have been on a bit of a spree applying to register ‘Mavrik’ as a trademark in the US, EU and Australia
The range of protection is quite extensive, as you can see with protection in 5 classes.
From the EU Trademark Application for Tivo Mavrik, the range of goods and services covered are:
- Class 9 – Computer hardware; computer peripherals; computer networking hardware; set top boxes; digital media streaming devices; digital media transmission devices; computer software for personalized, interactive television programming and accompanying manuals distributed therewith; computer software for use in generating, displaying and manipulating visual media, graphic images, photographs, illustrations, digital animation, video clips, film footage and audio data; computer software for use in accessing, viewing and controlling streaming, transmitted, and static audiovisual content over digital media streaming devices and digital media transmission devices; computer software for accessing, transmitting and displaying audio-visual data between digital media streaming devices, digital media transmission devices, and televisions and monitors; remote controls for digital media streaming devices and digital media transmission devices.
